How can I soup-up an electric Razor Scooter? Double the voltage? Different Batteries? Lithium polymer?

One of my friends recently gave me his old e300 type razor scooter. He told me it was fried and that he was going to pitch it. Well i figured if I just poked around I could get it working again. I popped off the cover and found two 12 volt razor scooter batteries wired through a box(I think it's the computer) to the motor and throttle switch. Messing with it some more I came to the conclusion that the box (Computer?) was fried. So I cut the batteries free from the box, the motor and the throttle and rigged it my own way. The batteries are now wired directly to the motor with on and off switch. It works pretty good. My question is: How can I make it go faster? Triple the voltage to 36?? Buy some lithium polymer batteries? Would three of these work? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15599 Wired together they should make the voltage 33.3 right? More voltage = more speed? Any kind of help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you do that you will definitely fry that motor. There should be a sticker or plate on the motor with voltage, amp, requirements, stick close to that.
