Buying a scooter and what to expect.?

I'm thinking about getting an electric scooter or used vespa to make short errands or travel up the hill from my house. What type of license requirements, insurance, safety helmets, etc are required to do this and what are the expenses? Just looking into it for now.

Depending on the CC of the bike you will need driving requirements accordingly. You can use lower cc bikes on L plates on a normal UK full license. Any bike on the road will require road tax and MOT and check if it is registered correctly at www.r4v.co.uk. Safety helmet is a definite.
