Dose having a higher wattage effect battery life?

I have a Schwinn S500 electric scooter(24V 10 Ah Battery) and I want to upgrade the motor.If I upgrade to this motor will if affect my scooter's range?I currently have the 500W version of this motor installed.

yea if you put a bigger motor in it will drain it faster. it wont affect your max range the way you might think. as long as the new motor has similar efficiency when driving at various speeds nothing will change range wise. if you run it full power all the time that would reduce it more since more power will often be "wasted" in various ways. so long as its a efficient motor thats geared similar it won't do much worse unless you ask for it. make sure you keep the batteries topped off.
